Terms of use.

Bingo is currently an INF 43 group project at UC Irvine (Group 10) and is provided for coursework and demonstration purposes. It is not a commercial service. Availability, retention, and feature scope may change without notice. Where Bingo continues operating beyond the course, these terms will be replaced by a normal production set of terms.

Bingo's first phase is available to UC Irvine students. You must be at least 18 years old to hold an account. Some features require successful AgeVerification through a third-party provider.

You're responsible for the activity on your account, for the accuracy of the InterestTags you create, and for the photos and messages you upload. Choose a strong password. Don't share your login.

Don't harass, threaten, dox, or solicit illegal activity through Bingo. Don't impersonate other people. Don't attempt to bypass visibility rules (the HomeZone protection, the symmetric matching window, the private-tag visibility check). Don't scrape the service or run automated clients without permission. Violations may result in immediate account suspension.

You retain ownership of content you create (photos, BingoMemories, posts). You grant Bingo a non-exclusive license to display that content within the product as required to operate the service. Content that violates the acceptable-use rules may be removed. Bingo's moderation may make mistakes — appeals are reviewed by humans, but capacity is limited (this is a course project).

Messages within a MessageChannel are between the two participants. Either party can Block, ending the channel. Bingo may retain Messages for safety and abuse-response purposes; see the privacy notice for retention windows.

You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Danger zone. Bingo can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Where reasonable, you'll receive notice.

Bingo is provided “as is” for the duration of the course project. Meeting strangers carries real-world risk that software cannot fully mitigate; please use your judgment about when, where, and with whom you choose to meet.

We may update these terms. The most recent version is published here. Significant changes will be communicated through the product where reasonably possible.
